Callum Donnelly, who served as a Graduate Assistant from August 2019 until being elevated to Assistant Coach in August 2021 under Tom Bonus, will rise in the ranks once again, this time to the role of Interim Head Coach for the LeMoyne Dolphins Men's Soccer team, leading them into their first campaign as an NCAA Division 1 institution and first season in the Norttheast Conference (NEC).
This decision comes on the heels of Tom Bonus' retirement after guiding the LeMoyne Men's Soccer program for more than two decades, spending 23 years at the helm for the Dolphins.
Donnelly's history with the Dolphins dates back farther than his arrival on the staff in 2019. He can relate to the current student-athletes inside the LeMoyne Men's Soccer program because he, too, was a student-athlete, playing under Bonus for two seasons, after transferring to LeMoyne from Webber International before his junior year. Donnelly played in 34 games with the Dolphins, starting in 30 of those matches. Over those two seasons, he would record four goals and four assists as a midfielder.
He would also help LeMoyne to rise to the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10) championship game in his senior season (2016).
Donnelly, a native of Edinburgh, Scotland, attained a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Le Moyne in 2017, followed by his MBA in Analytics from the college in December 2021.
His first match as the leader of Dolphins Men's Soccer? The Penn State Nittany Lions of the Big Ten Conference (B1G) on the road in University Park, Pennsylvania, on Sun, August 27, 2023.
