Carrie Bonus Resigns as LeMoyne Women's Soccer Head Coach

Article by Dan Tortora

Carrie Bonus, Head Coach of the LeMoyne Dolphins' Women's Soccer program, has resigned from her position, effective immediately.

She accepted the position on Tuesday, March 1, 2016.

Bonus went 9-8-2 in her opening season with the Dolphins, followed by 7-10 in 2017, 5-12 in 2018, 1-15-1 in 2019, and 2-10-3 in 2021. The team did not compete in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Her total record at LeMoyne will stand at 15-47-4.

This news comes less than two weeks after the team finished their regular season with a 1-0 loss to the Saint Michael's College Purple Knights at home on Ted Grant Field on Wednesday, November 3.

Seven of the team's contests this season either ended in a tie or a 1-0 loss, with the Dolphins right there but not getting over the threshold.

“We appreciate Carrie’s dedication and loyalty to the Le Moyne soccer program, particularly regarding the challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic,” expressed Bob Beretta, Lemoyne Dolphins' Director of Athletics. “We wish Carrie the best in her future endeavors. Our vision for LeMoyne Soccer is to compete for a conference championship and earn an NCAA Tournament berth. We will work tirelessly to identify the best leader to accomplish that mission.”

The search for the new head of the Dolphins' Women's Soccer program will begin immediately.

Current Assistant Coach Matt Perry will take over leadership duties of the women's soccer program during this transitionary period.
