Kyle McCord Changing Red for Orange

According to my sources, quarterback Kyle McCord will be switching from red to orange, Syracuse Orange that is, choosing Syracuse University after leaving Ohio State University via the transfer portal.

McCord will have a receiving core that has been heavily added to thanks to the portal. Teammates Jackson Meeks and Zeed Haynes left the Georgia Bulldogs for the Orange and Emanuel Ross parted ways with the Stanford Cardinal, ultimately choosing the Orange.

See a pattern? All four of these recruits dropped red for the Orange of Syracuse University.

Also, new head coach Fran Brown was said to have strong ties in the northeast, something that made him desirable to Syracuse, which Georgia head football coach Kirby Smart declared to me that Brown indeed has had.

"They're getting a great recruiter, a great leader," Smart told me. "He's going to do a great job. He knows everybody in the northeast, so better watch out up there because he knows everybody in Philly."

Ross is from Red Bank, New Jersey, Haynes hails from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and McCord is from Mount Laurel, New Jersey, while Meeks, like Haynes, were with Brown at Georgia.

A new-look receiving core is now joined by a quarterback that led the Ohio State Buckeyes to an 11-1 record this season, all while compiling a completion percentage of 65.8%, 3,170 passing yards, and 24 touchdowns to a mere six interceptions.

With McCord under center in 2023, the Buckeyes earned a New Year's Six Bowl bid versus the Missouri Tigers of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.

McCord will have one year of eligibility to utilize at Syracuse.
