Syracuse Orange junior tight end Oronde Gadsden II came out of the team's home match-up with the visiting Western Michigan Broncos early in the first half.
He would then have a boot put on his right foot and head to a seat on the sideline, aided by the use of crutches.
Gadsden was quarterback Garrett Shrader's top target last season, ending the 2022 campaign just shy of 1,000 receiving yards, with 969, on 61 catches, six of those catches going for scores.
He had six catches for 57 yards and a touchdown in Syracuse's 65-0 victory over the visiting Colgate Raiders a week ago, in their season-/home-opener.
