The Bryant & Stratton College - Syracuse baseball program was set to head into Year 3 of their existence, but that third year will have to wait as the decision has been made to cancel the 2025 campaign, citing roster numbers as the reason for the cancellation.

However, Bryant & Stratton College - Syracuse will be honoring all scholarships for those student-athletes who choose to stay at the school and work in the classroom and on the field toward the 2026 season.

The school is focusing on academics first as always for their student-athletes and will be looking at flexibility in the classroom for the remaining baseball players to have what they need to move forward in their studies.

Bryant & Stratton College - Syracuse intends to continue baseball as a sport moving forward, turning their attention now to the 2026 season with head coach Shawn Peake focusing his efforts on recruiting for all positions in order to get the Bobcats back on the field.

Peake began the program over two years ago, is a native of Central New York, and has been able to bring in talent from multiple states, building roads in the Central/Upstate New York area as well as down south.

He has told me personally that he will continue his work in the continued building of this young Bobcats' program.

"While it's incredibly disappointing to announce the cancellation of this season's baseball, the health, academics, and well-being of our student-athletes remain our top priority," Bryant & Stratton College - Syracuse Athletics Director Brooke Paro expressed. "We know this decision is difficult for everyone involved, but we are focused on preparing for a stronger, more successful season ahead."

"Our commitment to building a success-driven culture and supporting our players at Bryant & Stratton College is unwavering," Paro added.

"We are eager to return to the field next year with renewed energy and determination."
