Jeff Ambrosie Joins Brown’s Staff

Fran Brown, Head Coach of the Syracuse Orange football program, has added Jeff Ambrosie to his staff.


Ambrosie will serve as the Assistant Offensine Line Coach.


His coaching experience began at Onondagae High School in Central New York, where he was an assistant coach for the football program from 1999-2002.


He would serve as Assistant Video Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh in 2004 and would also serve as an Offensive Graduate Assistant for the Panthers from 2004-06.


From there, Ambrosie would join St. Francis University’s football staff as the Run Game Coordinator as well as the Recruiting Coordinator from 2006-07.


He would serve as the Offensive Coordinator at the University of Rochester from 2007-11, following with the duties of Offensive Line Coach from 2012-17 at the Univerity of Maine.


Ambrosie would head to Central Connecticut State Univeristy (CCSU) from there, serving as the Blue Devils’ Offensive Line Coach for two seasons, followed by most recently being the team’s Offensive Coordinator.


In his coaching career, Ambrosie worked with Bruce Johnson while on the Maine Black Bears staff. Johnson won the 2015 Rimington Award, bestowed upon the nation’s best center.l and went on to become the current Offensive Coordinator of East High School in Rochester, New York.


While at Maine, Ambrosie also coached offensive lineman Jamil Demby, who ended up being a sixth-round draft picks by the Los Angeles Rams.


Ambrosie has been a part of five titles in his career, while on staff: 2004 Big East champion with the Pittsburgh Panthers, 2013 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) champion with the Maine Black Bears, and three-time Northeast Conference (NEC) champion with the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils in 2017, 2019, and 2024. He also served as the Offensive Coordinator for Central Connecticut State in 2019.


The Blue Devils finished second in the nation in sacks allowed last season (2024-25) with Ambrosie as the team’s Offensive Line Coach.


Ambrosie is a single parent to his daughter, Amyah.


He is a 1998 graduate of SUNY Cortland.
