The Le Moyne Dolphins will make history this season when they take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for their first matchup ever in men's basketball when they travel to South Bend, Indiana, for a game on Sunday, December 22, at Purcell Pavilion.
Wright, III '85 and Cathy Lassiter Endowed Head Men's Basketball Coach Nate Champion calls the state of Indiana home as a native of Logansport.
This will be the Dolphins second contest of the 2024-25 season against the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), the first being their and the Syracuse Orange's season-opener, which will be played on Monday, November 4, at the Dome, down the road from Le Moyne College.
The Dolphins went 15-17 in their first season of transition from NCAA Division 2 to Division 1, going 10-3 at home at Ted Grant Court and a 9-7 in their inaugural season in the Northeast Conference (NEC), including an 82-61 victory over the Fairleigh Dickinson (FDU) Knights, who had some members of their coaching staff and student-athletes that were returners from the 16-seeded team that defeated the #1-seeded Purdue Boilermakers of the Big Ten Conference in the NCAA Tournament.
Notre Dame went 13-20 overall last season, under first-year head coach Micah Shrewsberry, including a 9-8 record at home in South Bend and a 7-13 record in ACC play. The Fighting Irish also won a game in their conference tournament, defeating the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the ACC postseason, 84-80.
