Will Hicks retained by Syracuse’s Fran Brown

According to my sources close to the situation, William Hicks aka "Coach Hicks" will be a member of Fran Brown's staff under a special assistant to the head coach role.

Hicks, the longtime strength and conditioning coach at Syracuse University who was then moved to the 'Cuse Athletics Fund for five years before being asked to return to the football program last season as Director of Player Engagement, has been a consistent bridge historically to aid Syracuse players to opportunities in the National Football League (NFL).

He is synonymous with Syracuse football, spending 16 seasons as the team's strength and conditioning cosch from 2000-15. Hicks has aided in the development of numerous Orange turned NFL stars, including Dwight Freeney, Chandler Jones, Arthur Jones, Jameel McClain, David Tyree, and Justin Pugh, a list that has College Hall of Fame inductees and Super Bowl Champions.

For a head coach in Brown that clearly cares more for the person's heart than simply their talent, Hicks is a perfect fit for the bright future ahead for the Orange.
